Lower Bucks Hospital Announces its Support for Ukraine

Bristol, PA (March 3, 2022) – Lower Bucks Hospital today announced its donation of unused items to provide immediate support to Ukraine, impacted by the current violence. The donation includes life-saving medical equipment, bedding, flashlights, baby bottles, first-aid kits, non-perishable foods and additional safety items.

“The strength and courage of the Ukrainian people are an inspiration to the world, and we are glad to do our part to support them in this time of need,” said Katrina Plachta, patient experience coordinator of Lower Bucks Hospital. “Being Ukrainian myself, I am concerned about the conflict in my homeland, and I am hopeful that the donations made by our employees will help those in need of care.”

With some three million people in Ukraine already in need of assistance, immediate medical support is required to prevent the country from spiraling even deeper into crisis that could impact millions of people.

“We are committed to helping those innocent civilian families in the middle of armed conflict by providing items to them,” said Lea Rodriguez, chief nursing offer of Lower Bucks Hospital. “This includes working through our regional hospitals and partnering with local community members.”
Lower Bucks Hospital is accepting donations until March 14. Items to be collected include protein bars, protein shakes and shakes on the go, towels, first-aid kits, knee pads, bandages, sleeping bags, rain jackets, bed sheets, baby bottles, phone charges, flashlights, thermals, baby formula, diapers and wipes, socks and new underwear, adult diapers, non-perishable food items, and canned food. You can drop off your donated items to the hospital’s main lobby from 8am-7pm. Call Katrina Plachta at (215) 785-9056 with any questions.
