Our clinical WOW Award Recipient for the Month of November is Kelley Louden, RN – ER. Kelley has been with LBH since 2005. Her nominator states, “I am writing to acknowledge the wonderful care, support with the “Above and Beyond” treatment I received from nurse Kelley at Lower Bucks Hospital. I initially called the Hospital before going, inquiring about the procedures I would undergo upon arrival, I understood that I would be cleared medically with testing and then be seen by a Crisis Counselor for evaluation as to whether I would be an in-patient or out-patient. I am a diabetic for over 63 years and having Kelley’s assistance set me at ease. My blood sugar levels were rising by the general anxiety I was experiencing. My pump was removed and locked up. Kelly provided support as I asked her about food, carbs and insulin dosages to keep me under control. Her presence during all of our interactions was reassuring and comforting, I felt her full attention. The doctor that attended to me at my bedside, asked me a few questions, time passed. I was asked to sign a release saying that I would stay 72 hours for proper evaluation. I spoke to Kelley about what was occurring. She arranged for me to see a counselor, to evaluate me as I awaited discharge. This was of tremendous importance and reason for coming to the hospital. I am known as a retired Social Worker and felt the warmth and depth of her support.” Thank you, Kelley
