Our non-clinical WOW Award Recipient is Michael Rago. Mike has been with
LBH since September 2011. Mike’s nominator noted “On November
9, 2018 we had a flood in the Laboratory from a broken water pipe. A phone
call came to me at 6:00 am while I was driving to work to report the flooding
in the lab by the night shift Boiler Operator. Mike Rago was on site getting
ready to start the work day at 7:00 am but no one was aware he was here.
He was called out to the site of the incident without taking time to punch
the clock sensing the urgency of the problem. He shut down the main water
valve and stopped the flooding within minutes of the phone call. I called
the Boiler Operator 10 minutes after the first call and the job was completed
and the cleanup started. He saved Lower Bucks Hospital a lot of money
by getting to the source of the problem before more equipment and hospital
property got damaged by his immediate call to action. Mike deserves to
be recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty not only on
this occasion but at other times showing his dedication and skillsets.
He is a leader and an asset to my great team.” Thank you, Mike,
for your consistent hard work and dedication.
